The Metal Systems We Install

  • Structural standing seam. Concealed clips, no fasteners through the panel face. The long-life choice on low-slope commercial buildings.
  • Architectural standing seam. The same concealed-fastener detail on steeper roofs where the roofline is part of the building’s face.
  • Exposed-fastener panel (R-panel, PBR). The economical answer on warehouses and ag-style buildings. Fewer dollars up front, more fastener maintenance later.
  • Galvalume and coated steel. Panels are factory-formed to length, so seams stay where the drawing put them.
  • Retrofit over an existing roof. New panels go over sound metal or low-slope decking, which skips the tear-off and the IECC R-30 insulation trigger.

What Goes Wrong on a Metal Roof

  • Fastener backout. Exposed screws walk loose as panels expand and contract. Each one becomes a hole.
  • Seam separation. Standing seams open where a clip was set wrong or foot traffic crushed the rib.
  • Rust at the panel edge. Cut edges and install-day scratches corrode first, then spread under the coating.
  • Bad penetration detail. Curbs, pipes and skylights leak long before the panel does.
  • Hail. Dents that look cosmetic still break the coating, and the coating is what stops the rust.

Installed Over a Working Building

Warehouses, distribution centers, churches and industrial plants keep running while the roof goes on. We phase the work by section, keep the crane and staging out of your traffic lanes, and run nights or weekends when production can’t stop. One point of contact, and the crew on your roof is on Texcore’s payroll.

What Fort Worth Clients Say About Texcore Construction

Common Questions

Standing seam with concealed fasteners runs 40 to 60 years. Exposed-fastener R-panel and PBR systems run 25 to 40, and the gap is mostly fastener maintenance. Panel gauge, coating quality and how well the penetrations were detailed decide where you land.

Often, yes. If the deck is sound and the existing system is dry, a recover skips the tear-off, the disposal and the R-30 insulation code trigger. We scan for moisture first, because covering wet insulation buys you nothing.

If you’re holding the building for decades, yes. Metal doesn’t fatigue the way a membrane does under Texas heat cycling. On a short hold, a flat or low-slope membrane gets you there for less.

Both. Seam failures, fastener pullouts and rust-through get repaired. Where the panels are still sound but tired, a silicone or acrylic coating adds 15 to 20 years.
